Hey everyone! Happy new year! It’s 2019! I saw something on Twitter the other day that said,” 2019 is the last year that will end with the word,”teen”.” I thought this was interesting! Today, I will be talking about how to stick with your new years resolutions! If you’re like me, I always get really excited about a new year! New start, new goals, new me, etc… Except, it usually never sticks throughout the year. I get lazy, I doubt myself, and I have no more motivation. Who feels me on that? Here are some of things that I, myself will be doing, but things you can try also to help you stick with your resolutions.
Write it down and speak it out loud. If you want things to happen, say it out loud. Write it down. A really good way of doing this is making a dream board! I’ve seen these, but never made one until this year. I can say, so far it’s really inspirational seeing what I want everyday! You don’t want to say things you don’t mean. If you want nice body, write it down. Engrave it into your brain and remind yourself daily about what you want in life. Surround yourself in it. If you want your resolutions to happen, surround yourself with people who are willing to help you. Get new posters and print out quotes that will help you get more involved and that you’ll see daily. You can’t just sit in your bed and say,” I want a nicer body.” if you aren’t changing anything. Tell other people what you want in life so they can hold you accountable for it.
Have a good attitude. I’m not going to lie, we all have those days where we hate everything, nothing looks good on us, we don’t look a certain way, etc… It’s just a bad day, not a bad life. I like to listen to really good music on days when I feel shitty. Music is such a mood changer and I live for that. I don’t have a sound cloud or anything. Some songs I will suggest are, Money by Cardi B (if you wanna feel like a bad bitch), Kream by Iggy Azalea (if you wanna shake your ass), Burn the house down by AJR (if you wanna get into a party mode), and Lost in Japan by Shawn Mendes (if you wanna be happy). These are just some examples and songs that usually get my attitude lifted. But in all seriousness, you have to keep a positive attitude about things you want to achieve. Don’t constantly put yourself down or say stuff like,”I can’t do it.” That is just an excuse. The more you think about doubting yourself, the more it’ll become a reality, and then you won’t achieve anything.
Don’t be embarrassed. We all have different dreams and goals. Don’t be embarrassed about them. You can do anything if you put your mind to it. People are always going to judge, be mean, and have their opinions, but don’t let that bring you down. If someone is your true friend they won’t judge you about things you want in life. It’s 2019, anyone can do anything and judging people just shouldn’t be a thing anymore. People who judge others for their dreams, goals, looks, etc… are just miserable and need to worry about themselves.
Research your stuff. When you see other people doing what you want to do, it’ll make your dreams more realistic. This will help you get more educated on what you want and how to achieve your goals. For example, if you want to write a book, look at how other people got started, how they got their ideas, etc… Read different books, listen to podcasts, watch youtube videos, and more. The internet legit has everything.
Even though these are some tips to help you out, no one can force you to do anything, but yourself. If you want to achieve your goals, you’re the only person who can make it happen.
I hope you achieve all your goals this year! Happy new year!
